CCSS Kitchen In the kitchen, there will be food prep, kitchen and dining room maintenance, garden weeding, and spring clean up. Volunteers will be split into groups of 5-10 to prepare meals for the day, clean and organize the pantry, deep clean the dining room, and prepare the garden for spring planting. (10 and older) Yes

CCSS Grounds This team will provide grounds maintenance of the ten CCSS main campus buildings and the 25 Tiny Homes. Volunteers will mow lawns, trim, edge, weed flowerbeds, and treat weeds growing in sidewalks and along the street. Though CCSS has some equipment, volunteers are asked to bring mowers, edgers, weed whips, garbage bags, and gloves. (10 and older)

CCSS Maintenance Volunteers will complete minor repair and maintenance projects throughout the ten CCSS main campus buildings. Tasks will be assigned based on the skill sets of the volunteers. This is NOT kid friendly.

Document Destruction Assisting the CCSS Green Industries, volunteers will sort and shred confidential documents keeping discarded paper out of the landfill and providing jobs and funding for CCSS programs. This is a KID FRIENDLY opportunity with adult supervision. (10 and older). Yes

Doormat Construction Make door mats out of repurposed tires dumped illegally in Detroit. Staff will work with you to produce the perfect mud mat for sale in the CCSS Store. Proceeds of the sales go to support the programs at Cass. This is a standing in place activity. There is some thinking involved. This is a KID FRIENDLY opportunity (ages 12 and up). Cleaners and Sorters Cass receives donations of all kinds throughout the year. During the winter months things tend to accumulate. Spring is a great time to clean up the space, sort those donations, and get them all where they belong. You will work with CCSS staff to make that happen. This is a KID FRIENDLY opportunity (ages 12 and up). Be prepared to get dirty. Yes
